Player Submission: A Call to Victory for Armego!

I have heard the debate regarding the Incarnation of War, and I believe that Armego should be fully restored.  Hyurog did act at the end the Age of Repose, changing the balance of Magesta.  This ushered in the thousand-year Age of War, but that was followed by the Age of Tears which lasted far longer.  As an orc who saw his entire clan killed, he lashed out in response.  However, instead of focusing his power on his clan’s destroyers, the Blood Orcs like those in the Dark Omen clan, he struck with a bloodthirsty wrath and terrible despair across all of Magesta, cursing the entire world with war that lasted for generations.

I have no doubt that War has some benefits.  It can be particularly good to those who are already powerful.  But I believe that another Age of War – call it an Age of Victory if you read the prophecy that way – would come at too great of a cost for all of Magesta.  Especially if the Incarnation of War that urges this on is possessed by the spirit of an orc that has already caused more harm than good in a similar situation.  And particularly if the Incarnation of War is allied with the Gatekeeper – a being who is trying to usurp the Incarnation of Death by taking many of those who die and absorbing their Spirit and Mind.  Supporting Hyurog will not make the survivors of this ongoing conflict trimmed and vibrant, it will leave the peoples of Magesta withered and broken.

The idea of improving oneself through hardship is an essential part of this world.  Whether your hardships are raids by warriors, diseased crops, complex ideas, complicated relationships, malevolent magics, or more, facing those hardships and overcoming them is worth it.  Not only will you grow and be empowered by your success, the world around you will be enhanced as well.

I do not think that this matter should be left to the Incarnations to sort out by themselves.  I live in this world, not away in Incarnia, and I will work to make it a better place even if that puts me at odds with some of our Incarnations and other powerful forces.  I will face any supporter of Hyurog that cares to seek me out, whether it is to trade words or blows.  I would also ask all Magestans to persevere, to strive mightily, and to defeat their adversaries in their own lives.  Have faith, and be your own Incarnation of Victory.

For Magesta!

Player Submission: Fiery Vigilante Discovered in Point Edgar

At approximately five hours into the morning of Fortuneday, the 16th of Bloodthaw, the burning-skull-in-hot-flameauthorities of Point Edgar discovered a gruesome scene, where the charred remains of a currently unidentified male was found in an alleyway beside the marketplace. The race, age, and exact extent of the wounds on the victim are unable to be confirmed at this time due to the extensive burns, but preliminary evidence indicates that the victim was bound and tortured prior to his death. Written in blood behind the victim were the chilling words:

Once a kidnapper, now a corpse. You are welcome, fine people of Point Edgar.

Officials are uncertain if this incident is of any relation to the rash of similar murders that have been cropping up in the west and appear to be traveling eastward, but stressed that regardless of connection, residents should take care when traveling at night, and are urged not to do so alone, and to stick to well-lit, public walkways.

More details will be released pending investigation.

PC Submission: Moonmergency!!

This moon, we mourn the loss of Matrius The Great, Powerful, and Handsome. He died late into the evening on the 12th of Reapingdusk when he was tragically struck in the head by an enormous meteor. There may have been pieces of the meteor stuck to his head, but it wasn’t like they were grafted to his skin.

raventreeWhen faced with this tragic news, the town sat slack jawed and wide eyed like we were staring at a common shovel in the damn store. We ask that you wear white in mourning as opposed to the traditional black so you don’t hinder the moons reflective properties.

He is survived by an enormous monster from the moon and his three very best friends.

PC Submission: Long Live the Queen!

vampire face

Elmerton, this is a warning:  Lay down your stakes and worship the real Queen. Queen Amphelise is the one and only.  You know as well as I do that she cannot be killed. She cannot be defeated. You risk your lives, those of your friends and of the innocents in the area in your futile attempt of this fool’s quest. If you stake the Queen be prepared to suffer for rest of your lives. Long live the Queen!

PC Submission: Concori Elmerton to Meet Again

Elmerton,

The Elmerton Mages’ Guild has grown quiet for the last couple of moons but it does not rest.  We will be holding a meeting at midnight as Gatheringday turns to Wakingday.  All those who consider themselves members should be in attendance.  Additionally, those of you who may not yet have joined but are interested should attend to make your interest known.  We have much to discuss.  As usual, dues are one silver to attend.  Your dues support guild activities and is kept for times of great need.

As a reminder, the Elmerton Mages’ guild currently and temporarily known as Concori Elmerton, is dedicated to the advancement of all mages in our community, the study of magics and magical phenomenon and the safety of the town, guild and Magesta as a whole.

PC Submission: Ayslee and the Season of Remembrance are Upon Us

The summer grows old and feeble like thousands of summers before.  The faelings lay exhausted, their tireless efforts resulting in a thriving forest, bountiful harvest and months of warmth and joy. However, their efforts have left them too tired to make the trek home.  As is often the case, we are in a position to assist.  Having enjoyed the fruits of their labor, let us do them the favor of ushering them from our world.

Ayslee is not a celebration.  It is a solemn time of remembrance of the losses we have suffered, in their entirety but especially over the last year.  We have lost friends and family, seen strangers fall when we might have saved them, left behind parts of ourselves and in some cases had our perceptions of self obliterated.

So we meet as we do every Ayslee, at the Fae circle on Wakingday.  This year, the intention is to begin after dusk around 10pm.  The time will be somewhat flexible to accommodate certain surprises that may have been promised by certain Queens.  The time will be announced before the ritual begins.  You should come with a fae doll and an attitude befitting of a ritual of loss.

Last year we went beyond the standard ritual to honor Fae of watery decent by burning a doll in a paper boat upon the lake.  This year, we will be honoring the air or earth as determined by nature herself.

Join us in the grief of goodbye.

PC Submission: Words of Hope from Osirus Mesmirum

People of Magesta,

The Festival of Souls looms before us and with it comes one of the greatest threats this world has ever known. During the festival Queen Amphelise of the first Vampire house will attempt to gain access the Elder Realm. She will try to do this within the boundaries of Elmerton. If she is successful, she will obtain access to virtually limitless power. Our very existence will be altered according to her own dark designs. Among her many unspeakable plans she intends to remove all weakness from vampires and plunge Magesta into a world of eternal darkness and terror.

I speak for the town of Elmerton when I say that we will not stand idly by as she attempts to defile our world. I promise you that this festival of souls we will rise up together and meet her with unmatched force. She will rue the day that she underestimated us.

For those who do not already know, the only way to kill a vampire is with a stake coated in 10 pieces of silver. Elmertonians, if you can spare the silver I ask you to come prepared with as many stakes as you can to the festival. Together we will send countless Vampires on a one-way trip to the void.

Our time grows short and within this next moon we will all be tested. We will all be forced to make sacrifices.  I have faith that together we will persevere and Magesta will live to see a new dawn, unchanged by the dark images of a twisted Queen. Elmerton, it is and always has been my greatest honor to fight by your side. I promise you that I will give everything that I possibly can to ensure our victory over the forces of darkness. All that I ask is that you fight beside me and we will make this Festival of Souls one to remember. Elmerton stands ready Amphelise, the next move is yours.

For Elmerton, For Magesta,

-Osirus Mesmirum-

PC Submission: New Eatery to Open in Elmerton!

Contests are SO much fun, right? Well, we think so… Especially when there are prizes to be won!
We, Fayne and Aralia, are excited to announce that we will be opening an eatery! BUT we cannot seem to decide on a name… If you know the two of us, you know we are not great with decisions… So, we need everyone’s help!
This is where the contest comes in. A naming contest! Think of something good (cuz we’ll only take one submission per person) and get it to us by Fortuneday, the first of Harvestwane. From there we will deliberate over the list and choose three of our favorites (we think we can at least do that much) and we’ll put it to a vote, asking all who wish to vote to do so.
First prize: TWO “free item” coupons
Second prize: TWO “50% off any one item” coupons
Third prize: TWO “25% off any one item” coupons
*All coupons redeemable at Fayne and Aralia’s eatery only.
Note: Our shop will sell a larger variety of foods once a permanent location is settled on.

PC Submission: Return to Normalcy

Allegiant Symbol Alone

Greetings to all citizens of Elmerton.

It is my duty to inform those good people of Elmerton of the actions taken since the Allegiant invoked the Rights of Perdition.  Throughout the land of Irvanshire, the leadership of the Allegiant has stepped in to aid in the everyday needs of providing stability to some towns.  This by no means has occurred in the entirety of the land, only in those areas deemed at need or undesired by the noble leadership.  Elmerton is one such place that falls into that category.

As such, I have been placed as acting magistrate of the town of Elmerton and wish to conduct the towns business in a fair and reasonable manner, as our town has suffered under outside influence for several years now.  It is time to return to normalcy.

This coming moon, and for each moon after, we shall once again have a court session.  Court shall be held at one bell past high sun on Wakingday. In the fair weather it shall be at the amphitheater and in foul weather at the Whining Spirit Tavern.  Court should be viewed not only as a place to bring about grievances, or seek justice, but should be a time when the town can gather to exchange thoughts and concerns on the events that plague or occasionally benefit our lives.  Although not mandatory, I ask that representatives from any of the major factions of our town provide a representative to attend so that any thoughts can be communicated and dispersed to a wide audience.  Concerns may be brought to my attention prior to court if so desired.

Upon conclusion of court, I invite any and all merchants, smiths, alchemists, craftsmen of all kinds to gather at market to promote trade and fair exchange among those of our town, or just passing through.  Market shall be held in the same location as court, once all business has been concluded.  I encourage all citizens to at least browse those merchant’s wares that visit, so that our town may be known as a stop along many of the trade routes.

As we are a town full of heroes, and upon the advice of members of the town, I have elected to continue the disbanding of a town guard.  However, I have elevated three individuals to the position of sheriff to provide justice and order to the town.  They are Azmin, Kai, and Scindo and should all be given the respect due to their position.  Should anyone have need of their service, or should they need to report harm that has befallen them, they may seek either myself or any one of the sheriffs out to provide assistance.

I shall continue to do my best to serve the town of Elmerton until the incarnations deem my task complete.

Minister Oliver Finnestera

Acting Magistrate of Elmerton
